Wang named FIBA 3x3 Women's Series 2023 MVP

MIES (Switzerland) - Chinese talisman Lili Wang was elected MVP for the fourth edition of the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series decided by a panel of players and fans on October 24, 2023. 

Wang’s electric skills led China to an incredibly successful regular season where they finished in third place at the Ulaanbaatar Final on September 16 - 17. 

The World Number three player finished fourth in scoring (217 points) and fourth in Player Value as well (264.0). She was dishing out some flash as she finished with the most highlights over the season (149) and the second-most key assists (84).

She placed first in fan vote while placing second according to the player panel. World Number One Michelle Plouffe, who led Canada to a repeat Women’s Series win, finished first in Player voting and fifth according to fans.

Wang joins a storied list to have been recognized as MVP, alongside Laetitia Guapo (France), Migna Touré (France) and Sandra Ygueravide (Spain). 

For each panel, players received 6 points for 1st place, 4 for 2nd place, 3 for 3rd place, 2 for 4th place and 1 for 5th place. The player vote was the tie-breaker.
