Five women from FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2021 we want to see in the Women's Series

MIAMI (United States) - The AmeriCup put several countries and players on the map, including many that we hope to see back on the 3x3 court very soon.

Here are five women that we hope to see on the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series next season.

Brionna Jones (USA) - The US star was the leading scorer in the women's competition with 41 points, helping the USA to the first-ever AmeriCup title. She scored 7 points in the final against Brazil and rounded off a stellar basketball season, including a trip to the  WNBA All-Star game, won the Most Improved Player award and now adds her first 3x3 title to her name. Playing her is like playing Adele's album: you know it's gonna end up in tears.

Mari Placido (Puerto Rico) - The fourth best scorer of the event (29 points) led Puerto Rico to a fourth place finish and was their leading scorer in 4 of their 5 contests. We've seen the Puerto Rican men's players win at the highest level on the World Tour, and with players like Placido, the Puerto Rican women might just take the Women's Series by storm.

Sassa (Brazil) - With her infectious smile and big personality, we fell in love with Sassa and her game at the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup. She finished third in scoring, and helped Brazil get the silver medal, while earning team of the tournament honors. As South American 3x3 continues to evolve, it's players like her that will bring an added energy and skill to the Women's Series in 2022 and beyond.

Joy Brown (Guyana) - Brown put up 31 points in the qualifying round alone, including 18 in one game! She put up another 20 points in the pool stage for a Guyana team that didn't make it to the bracket, but made an impression that will last a long time. All we know is that we need to see more Joy Brown on the Women's Series and very soon.

Haley Gorecki (USA) - Despite being a late addition to the squad, Haley Gorecki was an incredibly important player on the US team that raised the first-ever AmeriCup trophy. With her shooting and pick an MBA in pick and roll, she's been a productive player in both Europe and the WNBA over the past two years and would make a valued addition to the Women's Series, where more American teams got on the fun in 2021.
